Account Manager
About Us
CUE is the fan-engagement platform behind some of the most memorable moments in live sports and entertainment. We power stadium-wide light shows, trivia, polling, and interactive experiences that turn thousands of phones into one connected crowd.
We work with close to half of all domestic professional leagues, over 100 D1 universities and multiple teams in Asia, Europe and Australia! If you like working with existing customers and seeing the direct impact of your work, you'll fit right in.
The Role
We're hiring an Account Manager to own renewals and expansion across our customer base, primarily NCAA athletic departments and minor-league franchises, with a book that also reaches into other live-event verticals (professional teams, venues, festivals, and entertainment properties). This is a quota-carrying seat: you'll keep our existing customers, grow them, and run the full renewal and upsell cycle.
You'll work a defined book of accounts through their seasonal buying cycles, partner closely with Client Services (who own day-to-day health and adoption), and convert healthy usage into signed renewals and expanded contracts. The best person for this role doesn't wait for renewals to come due; they drive them, and they close live on the call rather than letting deals drift.
Responsibilities
- Renewals: Manage a book of accounts, primarily NCAA and minor league, plus other live-event customers, through the full renewal cycle. Forecast accurately, build the renewal pipeline, and secure on-time renewals before each season's or event's deadline.
- Expansion: Identify and close upsell and cross-sell: additional products, additional events or venues, and multi-year commitments. Turn adoption signals into expansion revenue.
- Live closing: Run discovery and closing calls over video and phone. Surface and resolve objections in real time and ask for and secure commitment within the call.
- Account strategy: Map stakeholders inside athletic departments, front offices, and venue/event organizations (marketing, fan experience, promotions, ADs, GMs, event and operations leads). Build renewal and growth plans for each account.
- Pipeline & forecasting: Keep HubSpot meticulously current: accurate stages, logged activity, next steps, and close dates on every account. Deliver a forecast leadership can trust because the data behind it is clean.
- Partnership with Client Success Team: Work alongside Client Success team to de-risk renewals early, flag at-risk accounts, and time expansion conversations to moments of proven value.
What You'll Be Measured On
- Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) and on-time renewal rate
- Net Revenue Retention (NRR) / expansion bookings
- Logo retention across your book
- Pipeline accuracy and forecast reliability
Qualifications:
- 2–4+ years in inside sales, account management, or renewals, ideally in SaaS, sports, media, or live entertainment.
- A documented track record of hitting renewal and expansion quota, not just managing relationships.
- A genuine closer: you're comfortable driving a call to a decision, handling pushback live, and asking for the signature. You don't rely on "let me follow up by email" to do your closing for you.
- Organized and proactive with a book of accounts. You manage renewal timelines, not the other way around.
- Diligent CRM discipline in HubSpot. You treat the CRM as the source of truth, not an afterthought. Every account, activity, next step, and close date is logged accurately and kept current without being chased.
- Clear, confident communicator over phone and video.
- Self-directed in a remote environment with high daily activity.
Bonus Points
- Experience selling into college athletics, minor-league sports (MiLB, AHL, ECHL, USL, etc.), or live event/entertainment venues.
- Familiarity with seasonal, cyclical, or event-driven sales calendars and the budget timing that comes with them.
- Background in fan engagement, ticketing, sponsorship, or gameday event technology.
- Experience with multi-stakeholder renewals and multi-year contract structure.
