Bridging the Gap Between Live and Virtual: XD Agency + Lowe’s Women & Allies Summit

The annual Lowe’s Women & Allies Summit celebrates inclusion, mentorship, and the power of community. In 2025, XD Agency, a leading experiential and hybrid brand agency, set out to make the experience just as engaging for remote attendees as it was for those in the room. With 250 people attending in person and more than 2,500 tuning in virtually, the team faced a familiar hybrid challenge: how to turn passive viewing into active participation.

Challenge

Hybrid events often struggle to engage remote audiences at the same level as in-person attendees. While the energy inside the venue is high, virtual viewers can feel disconnected and uninvolved. XD Agency wanted to close that gap by finding a way to make remote participation simple, interactive, and meaningful without adding production complexity or technical friction.

Solution

To create a stronger sense of community across both audiences, XD Agency partnered with CUE to integrate PostUp and Polling Mania during the event. Instead of simply watching, attendees were invited to join the conversation using their phones, no app download, no login, and no barriers to entry.

By scanning a QR code, participants could instantly post photos and messages that appeared on screen alongside in-person content. Between keynote sessions, live polls sparked conversations, turning what used to be downtime into shared engagement moments that unified in-person and virtual audiences in real-time.

Impact

The results spoke for themselves. More than 2,500 posts were shared during the one-day event, marking a significant increase in engagement compared to the previous year. Both in-person and virtual attendees felt connected, inspired, and represented throughout the program.

Meanwhile, the XD Agency production team achieved their goal with minimal technical effort. CUE’s web-based tools required no additional software or setup, freeing the team to focus on storytelling rather than troubleshooting. The combination of PostUp and Live Polling delivered measurable participation, meaningful dialogue, and a shared sense of belonging across every screen.

Why It Worked

This activation succeeded because it prioritized people over platforms.

  • PostUp gave attendees a space to be seen, not just watch.
  • Polling Mania kept energy high during transitions and breaks.
  • High Impact, Low Lift execution made it easy for XD Agency to deliver powerful engagement with minimal overhead.

Together, these tools turned a hybrid event into a cohesive, connected experience that felt effortless to join and rewarding to participate in.

Takeaway

The 2025 Lowe’s Women & Allies Summit proved that hybrid doesn’t have to mean disconnected. With the right technology and creative approach, virtual participation can feel every bit as dynamic and inclusive as being in the room.

By partnering with CUE, XD Agency and Lowe’s transformed a single-day corporate summit into a shared celebration of women, allies, and the power of connection, proving that engagement doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.
